Scarlet Fire Wolf Irwin Jerry Garcia Tribute!

What your looking at here is a painstaking and exacting recreation of the legendary Wolf as played by Jerry Garcia. No detail has been left out in this exquisite tribute to the original Irwin design. Hippie sandwich of Quilted maple and Purpleheart, Ebony fretboard, 6105 fretwire, 12" radius along with exact fretboard inlays of Faux Ivory and Pearl. Brass nut and hardware, exacting  inlayed tailpiece and brass inlayed Wolf design. Schaller tuners, high quality potentiometers and parts abound.

When I received the guitar it sported a Hum/ Hum/ Single arrangement with Lafayette style knobs and a harmonica bridge.  I  converted the pickup arrangement to the original Garcia Strat setup ala 1973 along with new Alembic knobs and a vintage Alembic brass bridge. The H/H/S brass plate, Lafayette knobs and harmonica bridge will be included w/ the guitar. I also found that I preferred not to have the loop circuit and prefer the sound of a straight tone path signal so I removed the loop components (the parts for the loop are included as well , a quick install ).

Pickups were upgraded to D Allen Fat Cats. The guitar also was upgraded with a Scott Walker Pre / Buffer so the guitar is wired to have the ability to go Stratoblaster or Buffer or both at the same time! The Stratoblaster gain is variably controlled by one of the former tone knobs so now we have.. Vol / Tone/ Gain knobs, Blaster/ Buffer mini swiches, 5 way and mini for loop on/ off ( currently disconnected ).

It has been a distinct thrill to have owned and performed with this guitar...all of the tones that Jerry utilized are right here...want an early 70's tone?..flip on the Blaster and adjust gain to taste. Later 70's-80's buffered sound with that extra high end fidelity?...Buffer on.

The guitar plays wonderfully with a straight neck and an smooth, addictive fretboard. If Garcia's tones are what you crave look no further. It is a masterpiece of guitar building by Leo Elliot of Scarlet Fire but even more an icon of sorts!
