Vintage Soviet "Lider-2" Analogue Multi-FX Processor

This is a very cool vintage multi effects unit, made by the Polivox factory in the USSR. Probably the most advanced guitar effect processor made in the Soviet Union, and it is truly a unique piece of vintage guitar gear. Heavily inspired by the Boss GR-300 in both looks and functionality, yet it is not a copy but a unique design incorporating a few interesting elements of its own.

You have 4 basic effects - "Tone Corrector", "Flanger", "Chorus" and "Solo". In addition to switching the effects on and off you can also switch all effects on / off using the fifth footpedal and adjust the effect and overall volume. It is also possible to switch off the amplifier output and use the device in direct in recording mode, which is very cool!

The effects work as follows.

Tonecorrector - essentially a 3 band EQ with controls for volume, high band (Tone 3), mid band (Tone 2) and low band (Tone 1). It is a very powerful EQ and can radically alter the sound of the guitar, putting the high and mid bands up towards the top for example creates a nasty nasal tone that works great for old school blues.

Flanger - a flanger with controls for brightness, speed, swing (modulation) and range. Not the best sounding flanger, but can get some cool sounds on lighter settings, can also go very crazy with high amounts of speed and swing.

Chorus - a chorus with two controls, modulation and speed. Again, doesn't sound quite like a Boss CE-2, but on lighter settings it sounds very analog and cool.

Solo - this is a combo setting with a distortion and a sub-octave combined, the most useful setting on the whole unit as it gets a nice distortion sound (although it is very "modulated" in feel) and can also dial in a killer sounding sub octave! Very analog sounding. You can also switch between rhythm and solo mode, with rhythm essentially being a cleanish sound while solo will have the effects applied to it.

Works 100% and all of the effects sound good and as they are intended to sound, cosmetically the unit has some minor dents but looks great overall! It has the original jacks (5-pin DIN) but two adapter cables are included. Works with a 220 volt power cable, which is included.

A quite special analog sound processor that can get a lot interesting sounds, a nice piece of Soviet guitar history! Item is located in the EU so there is no need to pay any import taxes or VAT, the price you pay is what you get. Please contact me with questions and check out my other listings!
