Custom built for me four months ago. I ended up having to have one of my favorite analog synths repaired and I could use the cash, so I am selling to buy a new amp. It is killing me.
Finding these used is hard. In this condition its pretty much impossible unless you want to do the several month wait that I did..
The tone is unreal. I used to play vintage fenders.
Used to....
- The Raw (neg feedback control) opens up realms of overdrive and distortion unseen on amps of this volume in past. Think a Fender Champ mixed with a Bassman with a Plexi breakup. With Rererb lol. Oh, and you can turn the neg feedback on and off with a footswitch (sold sep, but Ill include a generic switch that I use). Between the Master, the Volume, the two Inputs, and the Raw , you can get nearly ANY sound out of this amp (excepting el84 chime)
- The verb is like a more dark, subtle Fender. You can make it squalk and wash out for sure if you want, but it has more dwell and subtle sounds on top at lower levels. veerrry tweak able.
I have some old shuguang 6l6 in the power section right now. I think I put a
GE or
Phillips (whichever I thought sounded better) in the At7 position, and mixed up some tasty NOS ax7s from the 90s in the preamp.
I will include some nice backups for the tubes too because I love happy customers.
This amp CAN take 6L6 or El34. I talked to David on the phone and he said he really designed it around the specs similar to the JJ 6l6. With that being said, I have had GREAT luck with most 6l6GC. I also used a tasty NOS Tesla E34L (higher hroom than el34) and it sounded great for more aggressive rock. I can include A Few Teslas or Some of the Chinese Shugagagagng ( I think they sound better in the amp) ,
so let me know when you purchase....Really not open to lowballs, this is a special amp. I played it with a 15in cab (an allen, which I would take offers on too.. though I dont love shipping cabs). Let it blow your mind like it does mind.
