Here is my latest find from here in Japan, a handmade 2006 STR LS44P fretless bass in immaculate condition. I consider this mint, and it looks brand new even though it is almost 10 years old; no scratches, dings, blemishes, anything. STR makes gorgeous handmade works of art. Pickup is not visible! All gold hardware and beautiful wood. Fretboard is beautiful ebony with inlays for the "frets". Enclosed is their website, which shows a picture of number 016 at the factory:
