Iconic lush Eventide reverb, the SP2016 plugin.

What it is:
Original reverb algorithms from Eventide's hardware line, now in a plugin.

How we use it:
For space design, the SP2016 Reverb is truly a comprehensive plugin for all reverb needs.

Why it's cool:
Though it is technically a multi-effect processor, Eventide recreated their ground breaking effects processor from the early 80s, updated for today.ICONIC LUSH REVERB | REIMAGINED FOR THE MODERN MUSICIAN

Revered for its signature rich lushness, the SP2016 can be heard on many iconic records from Talking Heads and Madonna to Mariah Carey, Eminem, and more. Predominantly used by notable engineers and producers, such as Dave Pensado, George Massenburg, Alan Sides, Roy Hendrickson, Jack Douglas, and Mick Guzauski, the SP2016 has been a secret guest star on countless hits since its release in the early 1980s.

The Eventide Sound
What makes the Eventide SP 2016 so unusual is that (unlike most products in this specialized age) it isn’t just one thing. Not simply a reverb or a digital delay, or an equalizer, but all of these things, and more. We call it a digital EFFECTS PROCESSOR REVERB because that’s precisely what it is, a black box with a whopping huge capacity for ‘number crunching’ built into it.

Algorithmically modular by design, the on-going development of newer ROM chips, featuring even more refined algorithms, resulted in a suite of effects that introduced such iconic reverb programs as "Room Reverb", “Hi Density Plate”, and "Stereo Room".

The Eventide SP 2016 takes your analog audio signal, converts the signal into digital information, processes it, and finally sends the data back out as a (considerably) enhanced audio signal.

Birth Of The Plugin
In 1981 Eventide gave birth to the ‘plug-in’ by way of ROM Chips that ‘plug-in’ to a socket within the SP2016 reverb, to provide new reverb algorithms. In total there were 11 ROM chip sockets onboard for expansion. An ex-Eventide employee started a company called First Order Effects to offer new ROM chips for the SP2016.

Released 1982, the SP2016 was a 3U rack mount multi-effects processor--offering delays, reverbs, digital filtering, equalization, gain control, chorusing, flanging, signal analysis, self-diagnostic testing functionality, and even synthesis--which could be customized, programmed, and had enough memory to save presets and instantly recall them.

The Eventide SP2016 Reverb plugin is the next iteration in the ground breaking effects processor product line.

For a limited time, registered Anthology XI or 2016 Stereo Room owners qualify for this upgrade for just $29!
