Ahh... the rare, the elusive, the ultra cool Trooper bass!  Yes, I really dig all the old Intermarry Cipher guitars but for whatever reason the basses are not common.  These are fine sounding basses with a lot of thump, and they are built rather sturdily too.  As an added bonus, I actually have the pleather gig bag that came with the bass as new.  I think I even have the original strings in the pocket!

This bass was made at the Shinko Gakki factory in Japan, and I've owned many of their guitars over the years.  Shinko was the first Japanese company to use a laminated construction method for the necks, and that's a good thing because it really keeps these necks from getting too wonky.  When I got this bass it had been tuned to pitch for many years and had a strong up bow.  I heated the neck and got most of the bow out but it's still there to a certain extent.  The bass is totally playable but I did want to mention that.  Overall the bass is pretty clean with some random stuff here and there, in the form of playwear and a few tiny dots of what looks like paint splatter.  But it seems like it's under the clear!  Who knows...
