This is an incredible limited edition guitar. The king of the flat tops! In 1994, Gibson celebrated its 100th anniversary with a special run of guitars. 12 models were built with each model limited to 100 pieces. Models included reissues of the 1929 L-2, 1933 "Century Of Progress", 1934 Jumbo, 1934 Roy Smeck "Radio Grande", 1938 SJ-200, 1939 Super Jumbo, 1940 Jumbo 55, 1950 CF-100E, 1951 J-185, 1963 Hummingbird, Emmylou Harris J-200 "Rose", and this model, the 1948 J-200N. Each guitar came with a special certificate signed by Ren Ferguson, a fancy strap, as well as a signed copy of the Gibson flat top book. The back of the headstock features a special plate inscribed with "Centennial Special" and the month it was offered. The SJ-200N was from August. They were all built in the Gibson Montana plant and were top notch quality. These are highly collectible guitars from a great period in Gibson Montana's history.

Gibson's J-200 has been well known for its huge tone and incredible looks. The jewel in Gibson's acoustic crown. All solid wood construction. The top is solid spruce for great tone and projection. The back and sides are solid flame maple for great high end and incredible beauty. The 2 piece flame maple neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl crown inlays. Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. Appointments like the trademark mustache bridge and engraved pickguard give the J-200 a timeless beauty. The finish is natural lacquer, highlighting the figure of the wood. An iconic instrument that would look great in your collection.

This J-200 plays and sounds good. The neck is straight and the frets are good. Big tone and great feel. A nice guitar. No cracks or repairs. This is a clean used guitar in EX condition. Well taken care of. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches, some light indents and dings as well as some normal clearcoat wear around the logo on the headstock. Very good looking guitar. Comes in original hardshell case with a pile of case candy.
