If your familiar with the stock pedal, it tends to lack head room, sustain & can be quite harsh & fizzy. This has been highly improved by killing the fizzy irritating tone & adding more headroom & generally giving it a more natural musical flavour. Added to the improved circuit is an extra shape control knob on the front that allows you to weak the gain even further for crushing swampy lows end dirt for sludge stoner heavy riffage or grinding attack alla shellac or jesus lizard without that ear piercing high end that shouldn't have anything to do with good bass tone.
This pedal mod was inspired by Buzz Osborne's tone from the Melvins. If you know this band, then you know where I'm coming from.
