Teac R999-X R999X professional stereo cassette deck player recorder Serviced!!!

A very rare, unique, yet precision made cassette deck.
This is from the days of healthy competition to build the most precise cassette decks possible. Teac sure have Nakamichi a run for their money with this one!
This was purchased from the original owner. It was used sparingly and has just sat on a shelf for years.
It just went into the shop. Precision Audio. One of if not the best authorized Teac technicians left out there. He is very meticulous and does amazing work.
He went through it top to bottom. All mechanics and electronics inspected, replaced if needed, cleaned and lubed. Heads cleaned and demagnetized. All new belts. Biased and EQ’d for Chrome tape. Functions 100% flawlessly.
The only thing I regret is the tiny little plastic cover below the power button was lost during shipping to me. It doesn’t really look like “something is missing” but I know it’s not there. I tried to find a replacement but there’s none around. There aren’t really any of these decks around unless you look overseas. Other than some very minor scuffs here and there that you can’t even really see, this is in amazing condition.
Other than that, this is a very awesome piece in amazing shape and will continue to blow minds with its analog engineering, beauty and reproduction.
I’ll include one of my hand made reel to reel cassettes for show. It’s only UR-60 normal bias tape but makes the deck look pretty cool when it’s not in use.
I have sold dozens of cassette/reel to reel decks from my collection. I hate to let them go but am glad to pass them along to someone who appreciates these pieces of analog audio art as much as I. My feedback reflects my honesty and pride of buyer satisfaction.
