This highly sought after bass was introduced in the 90's by Yamaha. A P/J pickup combination and piezo pickup (that can be turned on/off or added a touch or in full). The original pickups were replaced by EMG's, as the originals began getting noisy for recording. I do not have the original pickups. The Piezo remains original. It's a tone machine and a great recording bass. I have a lot of basses, and am a player, not a collector. Seeing it hanging on my wall doesn't make me happy. Tone controls are bass/treble boost and cut. There's nary a mark on it, cherry burst finish, superficial if any. Lightweight and easy to play, only 8.9 lbs. Can ship in a Yamaha bag. Will be boxed well and cushioned as well as insured. No cracks or chips. No signs of oxidation on the gold hardware. All in all a 9.5 out of 10, and where are you going to find another? Made in Japan, regardless of the post below that says it's made in the United States.
