This is a vintage Yamaha FG 180 red label acoustic guitar. I am the original owner of this beauty, buying it in the summer of 1970 before heading off to college.
The FG 180 "Red Label" models from this era have the well-deserved reputation of being the poor man's Martin D-18. The tone of this guitar is beautiful: complex and integrated, with an especially sweet lower mid-range. The sound of 45 year old tonewood is unique.
This guitar is an excellent shape for its vintage. It has been lightly played, but never abused. As bass is my main instrument, it has received relatively little playing time. It will ship in a non-original good hard shell case.
The winning bidder pays $49.00 for packaging, ground shipping and full insurance anywhere in the continental U.S. Shipping outside the continental U.S. and to foreign countries will be calculated at auction’s end. I will pack this carefully and securely.
