The AKG C518M is the ultimate miniature condenser microphone for drums and percussion. The C 518M features a solid vise-type clamp that has a attachment range of 2.75 inches so the microphone can be used on congas and Indian drums as well as snares and toms. The cardioid mic element is wrapped in metal and is attached to a flexible gooseneck arm with a strong shock mount to minimize vibration and noise. The C 518M also features a detachable input cable that attaches with a locking 3-pin mini-XLR making transportation and setup easier. To faciliatate placement, the C 518M comes with a snap-on stablizer knee that helps keep the mic aimed even if an errant stick hits it.
