With the new Crossroad series Stanford introduces it’s first line of electric guitars.  I’ve been a Stanford dealer for a couple of years now and their acoustics are always incredible, so when the news came in that they would enter the electric market expectations were high. The fit and finish on these guitars is stellar, they look beautiful, have great open sounding pickups, and the playability is second to none. The Crossroad series is designed by the team of Maybach guitars, handmade in China and then finished in the EU. This keeps these guitars within reach of the working musician, while offering un-compromised quality control and excellent fit and finish.

Currently the electric line-up consists of the Fatboy 75 and the Thinline 35. This is of course the latter, which sports a gorgeous flamed maple top and back that looks incredible, especially with the nitrocellulose satin finish that’s very lightly aged. The ebony fretboard is adorned with parallelogram inlay, and the bound peghead sports a rosewood veneer which give the guitar a luxurious appeal. The Stanford designed pickups sound amazing, clear and open and with plenty of warmth.

A tried and true semi-hollow design reproduced in a very classy fashion at a price-point far lower than you’d expect from a guitar of this caliber.
