About This Listing

I guess, in the instance of this bass, I could simply recite its specs, dimensions, attributes, approximate number made, details, weight and features. Sorry guys, that's not how we do it here and as you are all well aware, a single email to us or "google" of this bass can easily provide any of the aforementioned information. Nope, instead, I'll tell you all why we bought this bass.

There is a local and long- standing band here in the Atlanta area name Cosmic Gypsies and their musicians, in some configuration or another have been on the music scene for over 30 years. They're a really good band and every time I've seen them, the bar was full and the music hoppin'. Their bass player for a long time was a guy named Pete (I couldn't recall his last name on a hundred dollar bet,) but he was a great champion of these Iceman basses and had several over the years, to my recollection. He was the consummate Rock bass player: really long hair, a cocky attitude, good chops and his trusty Ibanez slung way down low. He had silver Heavy Metal rings on every finger of his right hand and his basses show the scars of their attacks. His tone was a great, low rumble that could be heard over Roger, the guitarist, but it was never too overwhelming and cut nicely through the mix. Simply put, to me, Pete always looked and sounded very cool and I think, in hindsight that his Iceman bass was a big part of that coolness. I've always loved these guitars, mainly for their connection to the greatest band of forever, KISS and if it was good enough for Paul Stanley, it was good enough for me (at least, it was back in the old days.)

So there you have it. We bought this bass because of what it is and what it represents to us, not because of the number made or where it was constructed. Those things are already known and so, if you're looking at this bass right now, then hopefully, you can identify with what I said more than what I didn't...
