What’s Included:
- One brand new, ESD-safe EPROM chip programmed with Studio Electronics SE-1 OS version 2.51. The chip will be clearly labeled for the correct IC socket installation.
Please note: The Studio Electronics SE-1 synthesizer itself is not included—this listing is for the EPROM upgrade chip only.
Why Upgrade to OS 2.51?
- OS v2.51 is the latest operating system released by Studio Electronics for the SE-1.
- Contains critical bug fixes, improved stability, and final system code optimizations for the SE-1.
Compatibility:
- This upgrade is compatible only with the original SE-1 model and is not for use with the SE-1x. Please check your synth’s exact model before purchasing.
Important Installation Warning: Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMs inserted backwards will be destroyed and may also damage your SE-1’s circuit board. If in doubt, contact me before powering on.
Installation Guidance:
- Align the notch on the EPROM chip with the notch on the socket before installing.
- Install only in an ESD-safe environment and use proper anti-static precautions.
- If you are not confident about the installation, do not power on your synth. You can send me a clear photo for verification—I'm happy to help you avoid any issues.
