About This Listing

A rare bird.  Same as Kalamazoo Oriole but with sunburst finish. Kalamazoo KM-12 mandolin made by Gibson, circa 1939-42.  “Open book” Gibson headstock.  New stamped Waverly tuners.  Rosewood fingerboard.  Opalescent maple back.  Beautiful mandolin in fine shape for its age. Great tone.  Gibson built instruments during the Depression under various names including Kalamazoo, Cromwell, and other brand names.  This mandolin was recently fitted with a new bridge in lieu of the original bridge, which had sustained damage.  This mandolin is basically a Gibson without the truss rod.  Geib Challenge semi hard case.
