****** I just lowered my price from $695 to $595!! *******
I had someone commit to purchasing it earlier this morning, but their feedback was not good, so I cancelled their order. Letting you know just in case there is any confusion.
Very Rare 1969/1970 Fender Palomino Acoustic Guitar with Factory Fender Soundhole pickup in good condition.
Also known as the Johnny Cash Model or The Broomstick.
It was purchased in January 1970, the neck plate and serial number date it to 1970, but it was more than likely manufactured late '69( look at the headstock logo)
Some finish cracks and checking on the top( only on the finish, not the wood) and some minimal wear on the back( see pictures ), no breaks or repairs. It's not mint, but it certainly is in very decent shape.
Plus, I've NEVER ever seen another one with the Original Factory pickup with Volume and Tone controls, very cool!
And it $300-$400 LESS than other ones without the pickup.
Frets are near perfect, neck is straight with zero wear on the back, and the pickup with Volume and Tone controls works great. The action is low with no buzz and it sounds really good.
Comes with a nice non original Deluxe Hardshell case at no charge! ( They came with a cheap chipboard case back in the '60's)
I encourage you to call me with any questions you may have and for an in hand description in case I have missed anything.

A 1969 catalog page shows Fender’s acoustic guitar selection at the time. From left to right, the Shenandoah 12-string, Concert, Malibu, Kingman, Villager 12-string, Newporter and Palomino models.
And back in the day, some pretty heavy hitters used them, from rock strummers to country pickers—artists such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Buck Owens, Tex Ritter, Wanda Jackson, Charley Pride, Ray Davies, Robbie Robertson and Elvis Presley.
