Classic Dynaco A25 Vintage Speakers

Up for sale is a pair of Dynaco A25s. They are small two way 8 ohm aperiodic bookshelf speakers, slightly smaller than the contemporary Acoustic Research AR-4x's or KLH 17's. I've compared these to both those speakers and preferred the Dynaco's. If you look at the many, many raves about these little speakers on Audiokarma or the Classic Speaker Pages, the description that comes up again and again, is that they have soul. I've mostly driven them with vintage solid state amps, but many like these with tube amplifiers. Great with Jazz, vocals and anything with horns. Take a listen and hear for yourself. There's a reason why the dynaco magic is so highly regarded after all these years. I'd be happy to demo the speakers for serious buyers, and can do so with either a Sansui Eight solid state or H. H. Scott LK-72 tube amplifier.

One review, from the Stereophile report on them in 1969:
"we feel that these A-25s are better than anything else we've ever encountered for less than $200 each, and are worth consideration in any but the highest price category. We will even go so far as to say that they are quite probably the best buy in high fidelity today"

$200 in 1969 is approximately $1,400 by today's standards.

The cabinets are in very good shape, the grills are nice and intact, however they are missing the dynaco logo badges. Dynaco used rubber surrounds on the woofers for these, and they are not prone to the rotting you see on many older speakers, you will also notice that the tweeters are protected by their own grill, so you do not have to worry about dented dustcaps. Also nice is that unlike many speakers of the era, the Dynaco's have binding posts that accept banana plugs.
