Description
VARIABLE PENTODE TUBE PREAMP is a two-channel tube microphone and instrument preamplifier with the choice of tube operation (triode / pentode) and the opportunity to add controlled harmonic distortion to the signal. It is possible to change the nature and characteristics of sound and increase readability of vocals or instruments in the mix.
The device is constructed on the classic three stage tube circuitry using carefully selected Russian Military grade components and tubes. The use of low noise pentode EF86 (6ZH32P) in the first stage allows to get high gain with minimal noise. 6AS6 (6ZH2P) is used in the second stage. The control of circuit operating point of tubes and ability to switch between modes triode / pentode allows to take complete control over the level and character of harmonic distortion. The dual triode E88CC (6N23P-EB) is used in the output stage and it operates in Class A. The unit provides the most detailed and open sound.

Controls
DRIVE - You can set the gain of the first stage in increments of 2 dB (from +20 dB to +40 dB for microphone input and from -12 dB to +8 dB for line input)
OUT - level adjustment of the output stage with the step of 2 dB (from -12 dB to +8 dB)
TRIODE / PENTODE Switches tube operation (triode / pentode), makes it possible to obtain different sound characters from a soft and comfortable in the triode mode up to very aggressive and hard in pentode mode.
