About This Listing

The Josephson C42MP Microphones are a matched pair of cardioid condenser microphone suitable for multiple recording applications including spot miking acoustic and amplified instruments, drums and drum overheads, ensemble and choir pickups, concert recording, sound effects and vocals.

The Josephson C42MP electronics feature a selected discrete FET driving a fully balanced symmetrical transformerless discrete class-A output stage. The output impedance is low enough that very long cable runs may be used without signal degradation. Although the microphone is specified for full P48 phantom power, it will function with phantom power as low as 24 volts, with some limitation in maximum SPL.

The Josephson C42MP Microphones feature a black chrome finish.

Product Overview
The Josephson C42MP matched pair of small diaphragm condenser microphones represents an incredible value in workhorse microphones by David Josephson, one of the world's leading authorities in microphone design and manufacturing. The C42s are extremely high in output and have a very bright, dry high-frequency response that makes them absolute stunners for stereo drum overheads and acoustic instruments where you want a measure more sparkle than anything else in your microphone collection can deliver. But while there's a rather large push in the treble range, it never seems overbearing or annoying -- the sizzle of cymbals is beautifully accented, the strum and strings of your acoustic guitar will poke through the mix.
