Brand new arrival at J&E Guitars! A brand new Fender Custom Shop
1964 Reissue Heavy Relic Stratocaster in 3-Tone Sunburst. I had this
beauty built as a tribute to the original 1964 Stratocaster I sold John
Mayer roughly 15 years ago. This is NOT a catalog guitar. Custom built for us. It became his #1 guitar for many years. It
was also much cleaner when he bought it. I spec'd it out just like his,
but with some modern appointments to make it more player friendly. It
consists of an Alder body with a thin Nitro lacquer
finish. 3-ply tortoise pick guard. Aged white parts. 1960 Custom Shop
hand wound pickups. Modern wiring with 5-way switch. All chrome vintage
style hardware. A hard rock 5/4 quarter-sawn straight grain Maple neck with modern 9.5"
radius and 6105 frets for easier bends. The neck is "C" shaped with an
optional AAA Rosewood fretboard selected for dark color and grain. Back
of neck has a medium tint under the nitro finish. Clay dot inlays. Custom neck shape. Neck
thickness at 1st fret is .790", and .970" at 12th fret. Bone nut. It
weighs in at 7.7 lbs. It is an amazing player that will not disappoint.
Comes with Custom Shop brown hard case, certificate, and all case candy.
A real gem for the serious Strat player. We pay more for these custom builds, but it is definitely worth it. They are the best Fender pieces made today.
