Ken Smith Fodera Alembic 1 of a kind 1980's

Ok so here is the story...... a long one I’ll try to make short. I bought this bass from a gentleman recently. This bass is a Ken Smith that was Carved by Vinny Fodera (during the time Vinny did all the woodwork for Smith) immediately on completion the bass was sent to Alembic to have series 1 electronics installed into it. The bass’s electronics were changed and the bass was reworked by Alembic. The gentleman insists Alembic installed the Alembic Logo onto the bass and the new matching headstock veneer. He said Alembic thought so much of the instrument they put their logo on it. Alembic says this is the only part of the story that is not true The serial number is legitimate and paperwork from all builders involved has been verified.

Now that being said, Respectfully I spoke with Alembic and although they do acknowledge the upgrades and woodwork as well as verified the invoice they said they do not put their logo on non alembic instruments (it makes sense. I wouldn’t either). So PLEASE do not call this an alembic bass. I am being honest here for a reason. The people at alembic are good people. I haven’t been able to verify where the logo came from but it is a real Alembic Logo set in professionally and properly. That part of the story is the only one I couldn’t verify and I won’t lie to people to make a sale. The original Ken Smith logo will ship with the bass.

The reason I am selling this bass is because I thought it was a rare Series 1 bass made by Alembic. It is in fact a one of a kind put together by some pretty famous people. I do not need a collectors item though I want an Alembic long scale. I like alembic necks better. I paid 6k just make me a respectable offer or trade. Make no mistake though this bass has every bit series 1 sound.
