Sheraton-II The Epiphone Sheraton-II, once hailed by Blues legend John Lee Hooker as "an out-did 335", combines perfect semi-hollowbody tone with impeccable looks. In 1958 Epiphone produced its first guitars in the Gibson Kalamazoo factory. It was a momentous time for both companies and especially for Epiphone fans and dealers who only a few years before had feared the company might not survive the decade.
The Sheraton not only loudly declared that Epiphone was back in business, but it also heralded a new era in guitar design that put the Kalamazoo factor way out in front in giving musicians exciting new instruments. For decades, Epiphone and Gibson had been bitter rivals in archtop design. After the two companies merged, engineer’s from both companies combined decades of expertise and trade secrets to create the Electric Spanish (ES) collection which included the legendary ES-335 semi-hollow body.
I have been selling a few guitars from a refurbishing company in TN for the past year with great success. This one was shipped from the factory with no flaws and required no repairs. It has been set up and plays very well with no fret buzz all the way up the neck. All the electronics work great. The techs in TN do a great job with set up and I put it through it's paces before I post it for sale.
The word USED is stamped lightly on the back of the head stock. This is done per an agreement between Epiphone and the refurbishing company to prevent any dishonest warranty claims as there is not a factory warranty available with these refurbished guitars. I cant recall anytime in the past 47 years of playing guitar ever using a factory warranty for any of the dozens and dozens of instruments I have owned.
Ships packaged securely in two cartons with lots of packing material to ensure safe delivery.
