This listing is for a Capehart 414N Console with a mint condition Western Electric 728B 12" Speaker and (Brook?) 2A3 Amplifier.
The only part of the console that I have tested is the Western Electric 728B speaker and it sounds wonderful. I have not yet brought the amplifier and tuner up on a variac so I do not yet know the working condition of those 2 aspects of the console. I also have not yet tried the turntable mechanism but with the overall condition of the console and with it looking like it was not abused I would estimate that it will need very little work. Some have listed the amplifiers like the one in this console as Brook, I do not know if it is or not that is why I placed the (Brook?) in the listing.
Because of a request to see the the Western Electric 728B I took it out and have loaded some pictures of it. The speaker is in perfect beautiful condition basically in mint condition and has probably not been removed from the console since it was placed inside 70 some years ago. The DCR is the proper 2.9 ohms.
The console is in very nice cosmetic condition although it has some issues such as the trim piece on top of the left side of the cabinet is missing (there are 2 close up pictures that are towards the end of the pictures) also there is a split in the 1/4 mold of the back mesh that I will be gluing
I would like to sell the console complete in one piece but I would not be opposed to sell individual parts to someone providing that, if you are interested in buying only certain part of the console you will need to make me an offer for the part you would like to buy.
