- Condition: This F-12 is a thing of beauty. Not only does it look like a well crafted instrument, it sounds unlike any other mandolin I've played. The finish has worn gracefully and has a wonderful vintage character. This Blue Bell is in terrific condition and is one heck of a player; it is LOUD and projects with no problem cutting through a mix . Neck is straight and the fingerboard is free of any dings or dents. The frets do have some play wear, but it has not affected playability. The headstock has some light scratches on the face from the years, but they are very very light, and there are no nasty looking dings or dents. There is a small finish crack at the base of the backside of the headstock where it starts to meet the neck. (pictured.) This cracks does not look like it has gone to the wood, it appears to only be in the finish. There is also a crack in the binding within the scroll. There is some light tarnishing on one of the brass bridge adjustment screws. The original pickguard is included, but will need to be fixed if you want to attach it. The metal attachment point that connects the guard to the mandolin has come unglued and there is a small hole in the pickguard where it should attach. Don't let this Blue Bell get away, it is a serious player with looks to boot. Everything pictured is ready to be professionally packed and shipped.
