’62 Jensen TRI-ETTE 3-WAY LOUDSPEAKER This sale is for 1 - 1962 Jensen Tr-Ette 3-way speaker. It is in great shape and sounds even better. Very smooth - but not a bass monster, so -corner placement would improve the bottom end. This was from a mono hi-fi system so there is only one speaker in this sale.
All speakers and tweeter tested good on the ohmeter. The hardwood veneer plywood cabinet is finished in a mid to dark walnut with banded square-front edges. The finish has been recently renewed using Howard’s “Restore-a-Finish” product and a coat of Orange-oil Beeswax. The brown weave grille cloth is in excellent shape and is attached to a frame and can be pried out. There are some light red blotches on one side of the cab that wouldn’t come out using the Howard’s product. If the cabinet was completely sanded down to fresh wood they could probably be removed (see pictures) The cabinet also show some vintage wear with some scratches and scuffs but overall is in very good shape and has the original data sheet on the back panel
From the back panel instructions: “Your Jensen TR-10U TRI-ETTE is a 3-way loudspeaker system in extremely compact "bookshelf” size with unfinished cabinet. Its performance is identical to the famous Jensen fine-furniture TRI-ETTES. Three separate loudspeaker units cover individual portions of the entire music range. The new Jensen FLEXAIR 12-inch woofer with super-low resonance and long—travel capability combines with the new Jensen BASS-SUPERFLEX tube-vented acoustic enclosure for "big speaker" bass performance.
Compression-driver horn-loaded h-f unit. 8-inch closed housing m-f unit, continuously variable ”H-F BALANCE" control and accessory parts are also located in the same cabinet for greatest compactness.” SPECIFICATIONS:
Speaker codes C12NF C6915 and 220 206 verify Jensen manufactured 6th week of 1962 Input Impedance 16 ohms
