This Fender Telecaster, made in the USA in 1968, is one of the very first telecaster basses ever made. 1968 is the first year that these were produced, but most 68's have the normal one piece neck whereas this one has an original maple cap neck. In fact this example is so early, it has the first version logo that was put together from a standard telecaster guitar logo and the "Bass" cut from a coronado bass logo. The body of the bass was refinished natural long ago revealing a gorgeous ash body. The bass shows lots of wear but is a fantastic playing and sounding instrument. The pickguard is homemade, and the pots are not original. The pickup is original but it has been rewound. It comes with a non original hard case.
