Denon DL-103S was introduced in the 1970s as an upgraded, higher-compliance variant of the legendary standard DL-103, the DL-103S features a lighter vibration system, a special alloy cantilever, and a high-grade solid diamond stylus with a unique special elliptical profile. It is highly regarded by audiophiles for its airy, detailed high frequencies, sweet midrange, and exceptionally wide, refined soundstage.

Condition Details

• Microscope Inspection: Stylus was inspected using a Shure SEK-2 Microscope—shows no visible wear. 

• Tracking Performance: Successfully passed tests using the Ortofon Test Record, tracking up to 90 µm lateral amplitude (315 Hz modulation frequency) with zero audible distortion.
  
• Cosmetic Condition: Excellent. The cartridge body is clean, with no cracking, severe corrosion, or mounting damage. Channel pins are clean and intact.
• Functional Condition: Fully tested and operational. Balanced signal output across both left and right channels.
• Stylus Condition: Clean stylus cantilever with straight alignment and plenty of tip life remaining (see photos for detailed close-ups).

• Channel Separation: Excellent channel separation measured with a Fozgometer at 30dB.
