Gebr. Monnig - Grenadilla piccolo reform lip plate and split E mech

This is an absolutely beautiful Gebruder Monnig piccolo in grenadilla wood.  A very rare brand and model, it is quite literally a Hammig 650/3 piccolo with a Monnig logo: grenadilla headjoint and body, silver plated keys with French pointed key arms, split E mechanism.  Very high quality construction with perfect wood and plating.  Absolutely minimal signs of use. Could pass as a virtually new instrument.

As you can see, the piccolo is in incredible condition.  All pads are white skin and are in excellent condition.  New key corks throughout.  Fully serviced and ready to go to its new home.

The piccolo has a very lush, warm tone, and impeccable intonation.  Great core to the sound.  I've owned several grenadilla Yamaha 62 and 81 piccolos, and this Monnig is easily the best of them all in terms of resonance and pitch stability.  These piccolos are truly a well-kept secret, but now the secret is out and you can upgrade to a fully grenadilla professional piccolo for less than half of what a new Hammig (or other brand) costs.

Comes with the original leather Monnig case with beautiful burgundy velvet lining in excellent condition and a new Emerson case cover with zippered outside compartment. Also comes with a plastic tenon cap.
