Very rare, collectible Stuart Spector Design 5 string bass guitar

Growing up from 1993-2018 my family owned a restaurant called New World Home Cooking, basically right next door to Stuart’s workshop in Woodstock, NY. He’d come in all the time to eat and hang at the bar.

Back in 1997 my dad, and legendarily influential Hudson Valley chef, Ric Orlando catered Stuart’s wedding. As a thank you for the experience Stuart personally gifted my pops this SSD BOB-5.. serial no. 033 🤯 built by Stuart himself.

(He also gave him a red SSD Blackhawk guitar serial no. 027.. but that’s another story)

A very unique design. Looks very different from your usual Spector bass. He was definitely trying different things out at the time.

Active EMGs, each pick up has its own volume knob as well as a split knob for each for independent tone and low end control.

BOB stands for Bolt On Bass and the 5 obviously indicating it’s a 5 string.

Matte stain finish, no gloss. It is blue but gives off green and red hues depending on the light. Definitely has a decent bit of cosmetic ware, but still looks super sick, it’s been played plenty and still fucking absolutely rocks.. plays and sounds truly insane. Just got it set up by the best guy in town. I learned how to play on this thing.

That being said my dad hasn’t played it in years and after many years of his hands taking a beating in the kitchen, he’s decided he’s ready to let it go to a new home where it will be loved and appreciated.

Given the rarity and historical provenance, I’m asking 3,750 but am open to offers!!
