EMG E5-W 2025 - Black - One Pair

I recently acquired a custom Colley 5 string bass that was built last year. Never a fan of EMG pickups, I have replaced them immediately. The original owner of the bass just couldn't bond with it, so the bass itself, and of course these pickups, have hardly seen any use at all, which you can tell just by looking at them.

These are active pickups, which means you need a 9V battery to power them, so keep this in mind before you buy them. Without power, they will not function at all. As I understand it, these are pickups that were recently introduced.

Jake, my Tuxedo cat, is not included (he always tries to get into whatever pictures I take).

Here's some information on these:

Description

EMG's new E-Series Pickups feature the commonly used slim soapbar cap design. Unlike any other EMG design, the E-Series feature wide aperture coils with ceramic magnets, delivering powerful low end while retaining the articulation modern bass player requires. The E Series pickups unlock a multitude of bass models for simple, drop-in EMG upgrades. Designed with versatility in mind, the E-Series can excel in a wide range of genres and playing styles. Just like all EMG active pickups, the E Series are free from hum and buzz, and include solderless wiring kits for simple, DIY installation. For further tonal shaping, the E Series pickups are compatible with EMG’s wide range of bass EQ’s and accessories, so the tonal possibilities are virtually endless. Make sure to check the instructions for pickup measurements before purchasing to compare your existing pickups with EMG models.
