Up for sale is a very cool 1976 Fender Musicmaster Bass in its original Olympic White finish, in very good vintage condition and perfect working order. Made in the USA, this classic short-scale Fender bass features a comfortable 30” scale length, a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and a single-coil pickup that delivers a warm, punchy vintage tone with plenty of character. The original Olympic White finish has aged beautifully to a creamy yellow, giving this bass an outstanding vintage appearance.

The bass appears to be all original with the exception of the strap buttons. Cosmetically, it exhibits honest play wear consistent with its age, including scattered dings, scratches, surface marks, general finish wear and one finish check on the top just north of the bridge under the 6th string. There are also two sticker shadows on the back of the body, the more noticeable of which is located directly below the neck plate. The second is much less noticeable and is located toward the lower bass-side portion of the body. Despite its 50 years of age, the frets are remarkably clean with virtually no discernible wear. Overall, this is a great-looking vintage Fender with plenty of character and a wonderful natural patina.

This bass has recently been given a professional setup with a fresh set of 45–100 gauge flatwound strings, so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low action, and accurate intonation. Super fun axe to play!

Comes with the original chipboard case. While these unbranded “economy” cases that Fender would source are not very robust, it’s quite rare to find one this clean and solid as they would often deteriorate fairly quickly.
