Marshall AFD100 SLASH Signature 100w Head - 2011 - Fully Serviced

Marshall AFD100 Slash Signature – 100W Head – 2011

Serial Number: M-2011-11-0144-1
Year: 2011
Limited Edition Slash Signature Model

A superb example of a 2011 Marshall AFD100 Slash Signature head, presented with its original amplifier cover, boxed footswitch and AFD100 Club T-shirt.

Developed in collaboration with Slash, the AFD100 was designed to recreate the legendary Marshall tones heard on Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction, combining the character of a modified vintage Marshall with modern features and greater flexibility.

Produced as a limited-edition signature model, the AFD100 has become one of Marshall's most desirable modern amplifiers, particularly among collectors and fans of Slash's unmistakable guitar sound.

This example has recently undergone a full professional service and health check by Dave Wittering of Prestige Amp Servicing, former Marshall senior service engineer, and has been given a clean bill of health.

AFD & #34 Modes

The AFD100 features two distinct operating modes inspired by different periods of Slash's Marshall tone.

• #34 Mode: Based on Slash's modified JCM800 2203, delivering classic Marshall crunch with increased gain, a tight bottom end and plenty of upper-midrange bite.

• AFD Mode: Inspired by the heavily driven Marshall sound associated with Appetite for Destruction, offering more saturation, sustain and harmonic richness.

The amplifier retains the familiar simplicity of a traditional Marshall, with straightforward Gain, Master Volume and EQ controls.

The result is a versatile high-gain amplifier capable of everything from classic hard rock rhythm tones to the fluid, singing lead sounds that have become synonymous with Slash.

Power Attenuation & Additional Features

One of the AFD100's most useful features is Marshall's Electronic Power Attenuation (EPA) system, allowing the output to be reduced from its full 100 watts to much lower listening levels.

Unlike a conventional master volume, the EPA system allows the output stage to be driven while controlling the overall volume, making the amplifier considerably more practical for recording and smaller playing environments.

The AFD100 also features an automatic biasing system, designed to monitor and adjust the power-valve bias, together with a switchable effects loop.

Professionally Serviced

Recently serviced and thoroughly checked by Dave Wittering of Prestige Amp Servicing, former Marshall senior service engineer.

The amplifier has undergone a full operational inspection and health check, with a clean bill of health following testing.

All functions have been checked and the amplifier is ready to use.
