Golden Age COMP-3A Compressor — Black Lion T4BLA Mod, Wood Panels

Golden Age Project COMP-3A vintage-style optical compressor / leveling amplifier, upgraded with the Black Lion Audio T4BLA opto cell mod, in very good to excellent condition. Tested and working. The COMP-3A is Golden Age's take on the classic LA-3A: a one-channel vintage-style compressor/leveler with a T4B-style optical attenuator, transformer-balanced in and out, and that smooth, program-dependent leveling the design is famous for — great on vocals, bass, and mix-bus glue. The Black Lion Audio T4BLA upgrade replaces the stock opto cell with BLA's faster, more consistent T4BLA cell. Fitted with the optional wooden side panels. Controls: Gain and Peak Reduction, large backlit VU meter (switchable Gain Reduction / +4 / +10), selectable sidechain filter (Flat / HF), Mod gain select (30 dB / 50 dB), Limit/Compress switch, true bypass, and a rear-panel stereo link jack for pairing two units. XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs. Serial COMP3A:01664. Includes the 24V AC power supply and the wooden side panels — nothing else. Light scuffing along the top front edge (see photos); otherwise very clean.
