Founded in California in 1976 by David Schecter, Schecter Guitar Research has gradually established itself as an essential reference among rock and metal guitarists. Renowned for its distinctive instruments, carefully executed finishes and specifications particularly suited to modern music, the Californian brand has developed a truly unique identity. The Demon series perfectly illustrates this philosophy, offering guitars with a decidedly metal attitude and a particularly attractive level of equipment.
The Demon-7 FR is a seven-string guitar with particularly striking looks. Its Vintage White finish contrasts beautifully with the Black Chrome hardware and the famous Gothic Cross inlays adorning the fingerboard. An original combination that gives it a strong personality, both elegant and decidedly aggressive.
Its Basswood body and bolt-on Maple neck with a Thin C profile are designed to provide comfort and fast playability. The Wenge fingerboard, 16-inch radius and 24 X-Jumbo frets offer an excellent playing surface, particularly appreciated for technical rhythm work and fast solos. Its extended 26.5-inch (673 mm) scale length, specifically designed for seven-string guitars, ensures optimal tension on the lower strings and outstanding definition, even in the lowest tunings.
In terms of electronics, the two active Schecter Diamond HB-105S humbuckers deliver generous output, with a powerful attack, deep lows and excellent precision under high gain. Their wide frequency response helps maintain outstanding note definition, even with substantial amounts of distortion. A configuration perfectly suited to modern metal tones, heavy riffs and particularly aggressive rhythm playing.
This FR version also stands out thanks to its Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo, a highly appreciated feature among guitarists who enjoy expressive playing techniques. It allows extreme bends, dive bombs and other tremolo effects while maintaining excellent tuning stability. A genuine advantage for making the most of this instrument's full playing potential.
A particularly well-equipped seven-string guitar, combining original aesthetics, comfortable playability and performance-oriented hardware. With its extended baritone scale, active pickups and 7-string Floyd Rose tremolo, the Demon-7 FR is an excellent choice for metal guitarists looking for a versatile, powerful and expressive instrument, without compromising on value for money.
