Fine and very well-preserved vintage 4-string tenor banjo from the German manufacturer Marma.
Made in Markneukirchen, East Germany (GDR) during the 1960s, right at the peak of the European skiffle and traditional jazz revival.
The banjo features the iconic asymmetrical headstock, original chrome hardware, original tuners, and the classic Marma logo on the head. Built with a zero-fret (nollband) design, which was standard on reliable German instruments from this era.
Upgraded for Better Performance:
The bridge has been upgraded to a high-quality Grover B 91 Acousticraft Banjo Bridge. This upgrade ensures significantly better intonation, tuning stability, and a much cleaner, more resonant vintage tone.
Perfect for traditional jazz, dixieland, or skiffle, traditionally tuned in C-G-D-A. But also a good choise for folk, blues and Irish music
