Antique 1919 Friedrich August Heberlein Violin – Guarneri Model – 4/4 – German

A beautiful antique full-size violin by Friedrich August Heberlein, dated 1919, representing the distinguished German violin-making tradition of the Markneukirchen region.

This instrument is made on a Guarneri-inspired model, with a characterful outline, generously proportioned body, and distinctive f-holes. Its appearance reflects the traditional aesthetic of early 20th-century German violin making.

Particularly attractive is the beautifully figured maple back, displaying broad, pronounced flame beneath a rich golden-amber varnish. The spruce top has fine, relatively straight grain, complemented by a warm orange-golden finish that has acquired a natural patina over more than a century.

The violin retains much of its original antique character, with visible playing wear and natural varnish aging that contribute to its individual appearance and charm. The workmanship, wood selection, and traditional styling make this an appealing instrument for both players and collectors of antique German violins.
