The Guitar

This is an original 1967 Gibson ES-345TD Electric Guitar, finished in the stunning Cherry Red.

The Gibson ES-345 is one of the most iconic semi-hollowbody guitars ever produced, sitting alongside the legendary ES-335 and ES-355 in Gibson's celebrated thinline range. Introduced in 1959, the ES-345 offered a more luxurious specification than the ES-335, combining beautiful vintage styling with an innovative stereo output and Varitone switching system.

This 1967 example comes from a particularly desirable period in Gibson's history, featuring the classic mid-60s construction and styling that has made these guitars so sought after by players and collectors alike.

The semi-hollow maple body, complete with its central solid maple block, delivers a wonderfully balanced tone with warmth, resonance and sustain, while helping to control feedback at higher volumes. The combination of two Gibson humbuckers provides everything from warm, rounded jazz tones to rich blues and classic rock sounds, with plenty of clarity and articulation.

One of the defining features of the ES-345 is its six-position Varitone circuit, allowing you to explore a wide range of tonal colours by filtering different frequencies from the signal. Combined with the stereo output, which allows the pickups to be routed separately, this gives the guitar a level of tonal versatility that sets it apart from the more familiar ES-335.

The mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with beautiful split parallelogram inlays, while the multi-ply body binding, gold-plated hardware and distinctive headstock detailing give the instrument a wonderfully elegant appearance.

Finished in Cherry Red, the ES-345 looks every bit the classic Gibson, with the ageing lacquer and natural character that only a genuine vintage instrument can develop.

A fantastic opportunity to own an original 1960s Gibson semi-hollowbody, offering exceptional vintage character, distinctive styling and the unmistakable sound of a golden-era Gibson.

Its had a recent refret with the same size of frets in a modern ES 345 which give you modern playability on a vintage guitar. It had the very wide, flat original frets which werent great so this is a big step up and a must!

This had another tailpiece on it at one point hence the screw holes but not at the bottom strap button.
