Brand new, never used: a Randall May Acoustic Drum Miking System with a Sennheiser MD 504 dynamic microphone. It has never been installed or played. It’s complete in its original box and foam insert.

This is the original version, from when Pearl distributed May in the US. The box shows Randall May International, Huntington Beach, CA, plus US patents 4,168,646 and 4,570,522. May’s current system is the IND (Integrated Non Drill) line with the newer Sennheiser e604, so this MD 504 version is no longer sold in this form. Finding one new in its box is rare.

Features:

• The mic mounts inside the drum, which isolates each drum from the rest of the kit.
• No mic stands, and faster setup and teardown.
• A rotating mic assembly lets you experiment with mic position.
• The shock mount isolates the mic from mechanical and floor vibration.
• It can also work as a trigger for electronic sound sources.
• The Sennheiser MD 504 is a full-sized dynamic drum mic designed for snare and toms. Many drummers prefer its sound to the newer e604.

What’s in the box: MAY internal mount with shock mount, Sennheiser MD 504 microphone, internal cable and XLR jack plate, all as pictured.

Installation note: this version normally mounts through a hole in the shell for the XLR jack. May’s optional “Non-Drill” adapter, sold separately, uses your existing lug screws instead.
