1993 Rickenbacker 381V69 6 String FireGlo

Mint as New except for a tiny indentation at the base of the back of the neck and a handful of tiny depression on the edge by the neck (see pictures). Otherwise no other marks, dings or anything else. Truly as pristine as the day I bought it. The 381V69 6 String as well as the 12 String are no longer manufactured by Rickenbacker and the FireGlo finish is next to impossible to find especially in a Mint instrument unless you want to import from the UK, Australia or Switzerland. Played only occasionally due to its value and my fear of tarnishing one of my favorite electric guitar as well as due to a tear in my left shoulder rotator cuff in recent years. Kept in home studio, polished every time the guitar was played before returning to the case for storage. Includes the original Rickenbacker hardshell case.  Beautiful sounding guitar allowing you to play any Beatles, Rock & Roll, Blues and just about anything else you’d like. Can be clear as glass or roar like a lion. Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

Rickenbacker Summary

HANDCRAFTED IN THE USA

Every Rickenbacker guitar is built by hand in our factory in Santa Ana, California. Each guitar begins in the wood shop. Every portion of the instrument must be properly attended to, as the proprietary finish system used at RIC is very thin and unforgiving of any flaw. We try to choose the finest American-made electronic components, where available, to use in the construction of Rickenbacker’s circuits. Once assembled, each instrument passes through exhaustive inspections. Rickenbacker is proud of its set-up and testing procedures, resulting in the many compliments from musicians that the guitars are ready to play – straight from the case!

The Rickenbacker 381V69 Fireglo is a high-end vintage-reissue, semi-hollow body electric guitar based on a 1957 design and celebrated for its iconic 1960s jangle, hand-carved "German carve" arched top and back, and heirloom-quality craftsmanship.

Key Features

Design & Body: Semi-acoustic design features a distinctive "German carve" hand-carved arched top and back made from charactered maple, a single bound "cat's eye" crescent soundhole, and distinctive checkerboard binding along the front and back edges.

Pickups & Electronics: Equipped with vintage-style single-coil "toaster top" pickups, an "R"-style tailpiece and a unique dual volume/tone controls, a mix blend knob, and both stereo and mono outputs.

Hardware & Neck: Sports pearl shark-tooth fretboard inlays, deluxe tuners, and a multi-piece maple neck.

Finish: The Fireglo finish displays a classic sunburst shading transitioning from a warm red-orange center to a darker outer edge.

Classic Jangle & Tone: Toaster Top pickups deliver the bright, chimey, unmistakably 1960s British Invasion and Beatles-esque jangle.

Versatility: Capable of handling everything from crisp country twang to deep, mellow, jazzy warmth, especially when using the onboard mix/blend control.

Aesthetics: The Fireglo sunburst finish combined with the intricate German carve and checkerboard binding makes it one of the most visually striking and architectural instruments Rickenbacker builds.

Acoustic Resonance: The thick semi-hollow body gives it a rich, woody, acoustic-like clean response.
