Soundcraft SCM 760 MKIII 2" 24 track tape machine

offered for sale, the soundcraft 760 2" 24 track tape machine. i bought this about 2 years ago and did a chunk of work to it. it is in working order but will need further attention to be 100% perfect.

i recapped the power supply and cleaned and aligned the mechanical transport section. the machine handles tape well and all transport controls work properly. the remote does work for transport control and input channel selection, but the locator does not currently work.

the heads are in very nice shape and the machine has a fairly new athan pinch roller that is also in nice shape. at least 16 channels of the machine pass audio but i do not currently have a console with output buss to test further. there were a few channels of the machine that either did not record fully, or did not play back. all channel cards are in good physical condition with no sign of evident component failure.

this would be a good project for someone, it's as close as you can get to affordable for 2" tape and these machines sound and operate surprisingly well for their small footprint.

i/o is on 56 pin edac connectors. i currently have all 3 fans terminated to a longframe patchbay. you can cut them and terminate fan ends to xlr/1/4"/whatever your needs are. i will include a 30ips MRL tape with the machine, with the caveat the tape needs baked and may be of limited use.

any questions please ask. no shipping, but if you really need this we can get creative.

thanks!
