For sale is a professional 20” Sabian AAX Metal Ride, made in Canada from high-quality B20 cast bronze.

This is a powerful, heavy-weight ride cymbal from Sabian’s renowned AAX series, designed specifically for drummers who need exceptional stick definition, projection and clarity in loud musical settings.

Sound & Characteristics

Sabian describes the AAX Metal Ride as extremely bright, dry and well-defined, with clear stick articulation and a powerful, cutting bell.

The heavy construction produces a focused, high-pitched ping with controlled wash, allowing every stick stroke to remain audible even through heavily distorted guitars and loud amplifiers.

The bell delivers a strong, penetrating tone, making it particularly effective for accents and aggressive ride patterns.

Despite its name, the AAX Metal Ride is not limited to metal. Its precise articulation and powerful projection also make it an excellent choice for hard rock, punk and other high-energy musical styles.

History

Sabian introduced the AAX series in the 1990s, developing a modern, bright cymbal sound with improved response and consistency across different playing dynamics.

The Metal Ride became one of the heavier, more aggressive models in the AAX range, offering considerably more definition and projection than traditional medium-weight rides.

The model has since been discontinued, making it an interesting option for drummers seeking the original AAX Metal Ride sound.
