A ripper from Orville!
Debatably some of the most desirable Gibson copies (in no small part due to oversight from Gibson), these Japanese-market models have become increasingly desirable in the last few years. The serial on this example points to 1996, with a look at that years catalog revealing the SG-65 model. Featuring a lightweight mahogany body with a set-mahogany neck, this example feels like the real deal. A rosewood fretboard with 12" fretboard radius is present, in addition to the original Orville humbucker in the neck position. The bridge pickup has been replaced with a Dimarzio DP 155 'Tone Zone'. Super snappy and responsive, this is truly as cool as it gets for Japanese-made Gibson copies!
Cosmetic condition is good with signs of play wear in the form of dings, paint chipping, scratches, and hardware corrosion throughout. At some point, the neck has been off and placed back on the body. There is evidence of finish cracks running from the neck join on the bass side. Appears to be stable with no sign of budging. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes a brown leather gig bag.
