This Fender Esquire was made in the USA in 1968. Esquires in custom colors are pretty rare. The finish on this is original although heavily discolored and worn. It still has an original transition decal which is not unusual on the Esquire model. The neck date is May 68, pickup dates to 1967, and the original tone pot dates to 1966 (volume pot is changed). Aside from the volume pot, and the nut, the other parts appear original. When we got this there was a tele neck pickup installed and a non original pickguard. We were able to source an original late 60's esquire pickguard and we removed the neck pickup. Esquire's are routed the same as Telecasters from the factor so no additional routing was required to add the second pickup, although there are two screw holes at the bottom of the neck pickup cavity which are not original. Also, a previous owner shielded the cavities to reduce hum. The guitar weighs 8 pounds and 4 ounces. It has been pro-setup in our store and is in excellent playing condition. It comes with the original case.
