USED ISTANBUL Double-Stamped Pre-Split Heavy Ride 20" 2738g

A used Istanbul Double-Stamped ("W Name") Pre-Split Heavy Ride has just arrived.

This cymbal dates from the era before the split into Istanbul Agop and Istanbul Mehmet, making it a genuine pre-split Istanbul example. Highly sought after among collectors and players alike, it represents a unique period in Turkish cymbal making, offering a distinctive look and sound character that differs from modern Istanbul productions.

As its name suggests, this Heavy Ride is a substantially weighted cymbal, coming in at 2738g. It delivers a strong, focused stick definition and powerful attack, maintaining clarity and articulation even when played aggressively. Its solid core tone allows it to project exceptionally well within a band mix.

As a ride cymbal, it provides a clear and articulate ping, supported by a substantial body and a strong, lingering sustain. Its weight and projection make it particularly well-suited for rock and other musical settings that demand a powerful ride sound.

Another major attraction is its double-stamped ("W Name") pre-split specification, offering a glimpse into a unique period of Istanbul's history before the formation of the separate Agop and Mehmet companies. This historical significance adds considerable appeal for collectors as well as players.

As a used item, the cymbal shows overall signs of use and considerable dirt and discoloration. Due to its unusually heavy weight, it is especially recommended for drummers seeking a ride cymbal with substantial power and presence.
