This one hurts a bit to let go, but here we go. This is a completely custom spec'd 2025 Iris Guitars AB model in black relic (aged) finish with a K&K pickup and TKL case. I should explain that I work with Iris Guitars on graphic design and I designed the various logos, labels, headstock logo, website, advertising, and everything else for the company. So when it came time to build this guitar for me, every little detail was personally spec'd out by the crew there, choosing the best wood and building with the best detail.

First of all, this guitar is insanely light. I don't know how they do it at Iris but everyone comments on how light their guitars are. This guitar has a Sitka Spruce top from Pacific Rim Tonewoods...they measure the sound quality of every piece of wood and only choose the best. This, and the old growth mahogany back and sides were hand picked by Adam, the owner of Iris. The dark firestripe pickguard was custom cut for me because I didn't want it too bright and standing out so much from the black finish. The top and headstock were aged just perfectly, with finish checking and some dings and nicks in just the right amount so it looks like it's been around for a long time, but without looking overworked and dumb like some relic jobs. This guitar has a great soul to it.

It has a K&K Western pickup installed at the factory and sounds excellent plugged in. It has a big, rich acoustic sound and I've had several people say it's the best sounding modern acoustic they've heard. It really does just sound fantastic. The back and sides are satin finished, like all Iris guitars, with no pore filler. Some people don't like this look, but I think it just opens up the sound of the guitar right from the start. This guitar sounds like it's been around a few decades already. It comes with a TKL hard case that is also in great original condition. It has some stickers on it, and I'll let you decide whether to take them off (they'll come off very easily), or keep the tradition going and add to them.
