Up for sale is an original Ensoniq EPS ("Classic") 13-bit sampler keyboard. This unit has been meticulously cleaned inside and out and heavily serviced on the electromechanical side. It boots up and passes clear audio, but has a voice/trigger-routing issue on the main board, making it an excellent project for a tech or an incredible parts asset.

🟢 Serviced & Functional Highlights

• Deep Front Panel Overhaul: Every single tactile switch on the front control panel was audited. Any switches showing signs of failure or out-of-spec resistance were replaced with brand-new components. The remaining factory switches were thoroughly cleaned and conditioned with genuine DeoxIT.
• Cleaned & Serviced Keybed: The polyphonic after-touch keybed has been completely cleaned and physically serviced. Note: This keybed was fully tested in a separate, known-working EPS and functions 100% perfectly, so it is completely eliminated as the source of the audio trigger issue listed below.
• Power Supply Checked: Power supply rail voltages have been fully bench-verified to ensure they are stable and performing within original factory specifications.
• Hardware Completeness: The physical chassis is completely intact with zero missing parts (screws, slider caps, and jack nuts are all present).

🔴 Known Issues & Diagnostic Notes (Read Thoroughly!)

• Volume & Data Sliders: The volume and data slider potentiometers did not function the last time the unit was powered on. This could point to a shared trace fault, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) issue, or a loose connection on the panel board.
• Key Trigger / Voice Playback Issue: You can load samples from a disk successfully, but when you play the keyboard, you have to press numerous keys repeatedly to hear anything from the headphone or main outputs. Because the keybed itself is confirmed working, this is an issue on the mainboard related to voice assignment, gating logic, or output traces.
• Sampling Status: When sampling an external audio source into the unit, the live input audio monitor path is perfectly clean and clear.
• Floppy Disk Drive Behavior: The disk drive physically struggles but does eventually successfully load the OS or sample disks. This behavior appears to be related to an upstream power or control issue coming from the main board rather than a faulty mechanical drive mechanism.
• Items Not Included: A standard IEC power cord and an OS boot floppy disk are not included.
