This 1956 tweed Fender 5E5-B Pro narrow panel combo produces about 25 to 30 watts through a 15 inch speaker. It has four input jacks and two channels (instrument and mic), a volume control for each channel, and a master tone control. The fixed bias circuit is driven by 6L6 power tubes (2), 12AX7 (2) and 12AY7 (1) preamp tubes, and a 5U4 rectifier tube. The tone is full and deep, thanks to the 15 inch speaker.

Overall, the amp sounds wonderful. With single coil pickups, it stays relatively clean until around 4 or 5 on the volume. At 6, the amp starts breaking up, and coupled with the 15 inch speaker, the tone is very full yet clear and articulate. Of course, humbuckers push the amp into distortion earlier.

In terms of condition, the replaced speaker is a correct Jensen P15N which dates to 1961. Some of the white lettering on the control panel is gone. As seen in the photos, a few out of spec caps and resistors have been changed. The power toggle switch has been replaced. All tubes are vintage except for the 12AY7. The Triad transformers are original as well as the tweed covering and grill cloth. The choke dates to 1959. Includes the original cover! The power cord has an ungrounded, two prong plug.

With any vintage tube amp, it is highly advisable to get it serviced for safety and reliability as the electrical component values have likely drifted outside of specification over time. Therefore, the amp may not perform as it should, and the chance of damage to critical components is increased.
