Overview: These Reso Rocket models have a mixmash of National styling borrowed from a variety of models but are essentially single-cone style Os with a cutaway in terms of sound. The "windowpane" soundholes borrowed from the Tricone models and the hubcap-style coverplate are tres deco and the look is very cool.
If you like the handling and extra warmth and bass of a 12-fret National but want a solid headstock (for ease of use) and a cutaway (so you can pick it like Django), then here you are!
Repairs included: This has a replacement, compensated National saddle and biscuit fit. Unfortunately, the placement of the cone in relation to the neck on this one was a little off so I had to finagle the biscuit's seating a bit to allow for good intonation. That done, all I needed to do was set it up, which I did. It had a hole drilled in the side for a pickup jack, though, but the pickup was missing so I decided to go whole hog and give it a new, K&K Twin Spot pickup fit on the biscuit. This sounds really good, is passive so there are no batteries to bother with, and I've used them on a number of nationally-touring guitars, as I think they're the best way to get an actual amplified resonator sound. Anyhow, it's playing spot-on and is ready to go.

Condition notes: As mentioned, I had to offset the biscuit a little bit on the top of the cone to get it to line-up for good intonation. Said biscuit and saddle are replacements of a newer National variety. I added a pickup. The finish has some surface cloudiness here and there throughout from years of happy use without polishing. Will it come right back with some effort? Likely! -- but I think it's a little charming to see some life in it. The saddle is on the low side and the back-angle from the tailpiece is also on the low side, but it's playing spot-on at the moment. A slide player would want it jacked-up a bit as it's set for fingerstyle/flatpicking right now. The truss rod cover is not original and most of the coverplate screws are replacements as well (all that was missing when it arrived).
It comes with: It has its original hard case.
