MidiPlus MiniEngine USB

I bought this in hopes of having a really compact synth setup while traveling. This sound module has a number of good patches. Although, I was never able to get out of MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) mode and play chords with the divided pickup and the very basic MIDI control that comes directly from my Jamstik guitar.

To switch MPE on and off, I would need to use their software on a laptop or tablet. So the really compact design, that attracted me to a sound module that would fit in my guitar case, doesn’t work with my rig.

While getting single string voicing was easy with my setup. I was unable to get the same synthesized instrument from every string and don’t have the necessary skills for cracking and re-mapping. However, if you have more granular control using a different MIDI controller, this may be a good, compact solution for you.

The module is sold AS-IS and without a box or cables. Also, even though this model is discontinued, the manual is downloadable from the manufacture’s site.

The price includes USPS shipping for the continental USA.
